Special Features of the Trademark Search System 'InterMark'
-
- POINT 01Minimal noise in search results, ensuring essential information acquisition
- As the examination trends of the Patent Office change and the amount of noise in the data itself increases compared to the past, we not only evaluate the examination results by TN search but also score them (matrix) and create a "modified TN table" by trademark practitioners specializing in patent law, ensuring the detection of truly necessary information without missing anything and significantly reducing unnecessary noise.
-
- POINT 02Significantly increased work efficiency with high-speed searches
- Achieve industry-leading search speeds with search results instantly available. By quickly displaying the reasons for rejection of invalidation data that cannot be searched on J-PlatPat and quantifying the similarity using the TN method, significant reductions in research time are possible. We address concerns such as "spending too much time on operations and outputs" and "wanting to conduct investigations more efficiently.
-
- POINT 03Incredibly user-friendly with simple operation
- Featuring a simple interface that can be used without a manual, InterMark offers easy operability. The content of the search items is also clear at a glance, allowing users to quickly master the system. With the ability to obtain high-quality search results promptly, you can prevent the oversight of information due to search omissions.
Function Introduction
-
- TN Search
- Displays similarity quantified numerically.
Enables searching for similar appellations using the TN method, and search results are displayed in order of similarity. (The TN method quantifies similarity/non-similarity based on patent office decisions on the names of trademarks. A TN value of 0 indicates identical names, while a TN value of 79 is the maximum, indicating the least similarity.)
-
- Multipurpose Search
- Produces highly accurate search results through advanced parameter settings.
Combines multiple functions using AND/OR conditions, efficiently yielding high-precision results. Additional functionalities are planned for future updates, making it a search feature to look forward to.
-
- Article 3 Search (Mr.3条)
- Enables searching for refusal reasons categorized by field, covering even invalidation data.
While J-PlatPat deletes invalidation data, the InterMark system retains such data and refusal reasons (Article 3 of the Trademark Act), allowing effective confirmation of the strength or weakness of trademark distinctiveness. It is also a significant feature that you can view fields by category such as "Chemistry," "Goods," "Machinery," "Food," "Textiles," and "Services."
-
- Refusal Search
- Similar to the Article 3 Search, it allows searching for refusal reasons and remaining invalidation data, providing information on the strength or weakness of trademark distinctiveness categorized by the Japan Patent Office's fields such as "Chemistry," "Goods," "Machinery," "Food," "Textiles," and "Services."
-
- Bibliographic Search
- Allows searching for bibliographic information by specifying registration number, application number, or publication number. Up to 50 items can be specified at once. If there are multiple specifications on one line (for example, specifying both registration number and publication number on the same line), priority is given to registration number, application number, and publication number, respectively.
-
- Goods and Services Names
- Displays a list of designated goods and services names, categories, and similar group codes when entering text strings that constitute goods and services names. This helps efficiently identify whether descriptive phrases are at risk of refusal under Article 6 of the Trademark Act before filing.
-
- Unregistered Name Recommendation (Naming Support System)
- This service is effective when there are identical or similar names to the target of the investigation. It categorizes all names with one sound difference into "unregistered/undisclosed" and "registered/disclosed" categories, making it convenient for naming activities.
-
- Differential Sound Search
- Utilized for creating opinions when a name is refused due to a one-sound difference. By specifying one-sound difference conditions (different sounds, name length, etc.) and search targets (categories, similar groups, etc.), extensive concurrent cases can be searched.
-
- GS List
- Searches for "similar group codes" corresponding one-to-one with the "designated goods and services" of applied/registered data. While J-PlatPat deletes invalidation data, the accumulation of large amounts of data not seen at the Patent Office is effective.
